Pastor Lynn thanks all Prince of Peace Friends for “the welcome you have extended to (her), for the stories you have shared, for the many ways you care for one another, for the opportuniities to worship and serve, learn and grow, laugh and mourn together.”
We are convening a study of the ELCA Draft Social Statement on Women and Justice in May and June. An introduction to the draft will be presented on May 13 and four weekly group study sessions will follow.
Our four Women’s Circles invite all women to attend the May Bible Studies. May’s lesson is an intergenerational topic with the theme “All Are Welcome” from Hebrews 13:1 – 2. Showing hospitality and compassion are gifts learned from Jesus. How do we build family ties? Do you show hospitality to strangers who are poor, lonely and struggling? What challenges does Prince of Peace have to become more welcoming?
Session 4 of this series of bible studies “Multiple Meanings,” from Gather Magazine, will be about the “Prodigal Son Story” from Luke 15:11 – 32. From what perspective would a “famine” or “squandering your possessions” contribute to the understanding of this story?
