Today, I’m thinking about this phrase, “let them deny themselves…” To be a disciple, to follow Jesus suggests that life is to be lived for something that’s bigger and more important than any individual personal want or need. This is the vision of the “kingdom of heaven” that Jesus returns to over and over in Matthew’s Gospel story.

As, the new president of the council, I have been thinking a lot on how best, we can move forward with strategic visioning for Prince of Peace. The top two priorities identified amongst all age cohorts in the survey, were related to growth. This is not surprising.
As the longer season and explorations of this Epiphany has given way to the 40-day journey of Lent, I find myself drawn to some new disciplines that are re-framing my pastoral work.
