Thanks to your generosity, we were able to share some love with a variety of folks this holiday season. We sent cards and poinsettias out to friends we don’t see very often, we helped to stock the shelves of the Christmas Shop at PCYC and we shared gift cards with residents at Lyngblomsten Senior Housing Community.

Deb Mundinger was one of those who traveled from Prince of Peace to Tanzania this past fall as they visited our partner congregation in the village of Bomalang’ombe. Deb always had her camera close at hand and took, literally, thousands of pictures of the groups travels throughout the country. She has now compiled many of her images and published them in a photo journal alongside some reflections from the trip. A copy of the bound journal, entitled “Bwana Asifiwe,” is available to be viewed in the library at Prince of Peace.

It’s that time of year when we take stock of the past 12 months. List writers dominate the headlines and cover any number of topics, some fun, some serious. I’d like to take stock of just a few of the blessings of my year, serving alongside all of you in ministry here at Prince of Peace.

How are we letting God dwell in God’s House? How are we dwelling inside, and outside, of Prince of Peace? As those who first worshipped in this space dreamt, planned, welcomed, adorned and dwelt of how to be God’s servants are we, too, still dreaming, planning, welcoming, adorning and dwelling? If we are not active in God’s service, what is the point of being a church? How can each of us use our gifts in Gods’ service, both, at church and in our everyday world?
