Today we made it to Iringa! This was the first time we took a flight from Dar es Salaam to Iringa, saving a 12 hour drive. We were only an hour late after making a couple of unscheduled stops at dirt airstrips in Selous Game Reserve. We were met at the airport by Shedrack Mukuta, the owner of Mukuta Travel, and our driver, Godfrey. Shedrack invited us to the offices, where his wife had made a nice breakfast for us. Their office is just a couple of blocks away from The Lutheran Center and has a great rooftop view of Iringa. We then checked in at the Lutheran Center and met BKB Director Kirsten and new BKB coordinator Susan to talk through logistics of the rest of the trip and then to do some shopping! We used a portion of the funds raised by PoP to purchase soccer balls for the preaching points and students, and a nice assortment of teaching and theological books for the pastors and evangelists.
We met Kirsten and Susan for dinner at The Lutheran Center and prepping for our visit to Bomalang’ombe tomorrow!
