- In January, the Iringa based BKB team held seminars at all 8 of the Iringa Districts (similar to the St Paul Area Synod’s Conferences) where they discussed policies and procedures around scholarships and projects, and talked about hosting guests from the US. Pastor Msigwa got a lot of laughs when he told stories of some of the unusual things that have happened during visits – including a chicken laying an egg on someone’s bed! Each parish could send up to 7 people to the seminar and BKB provided breakfast and lunch for them. Attached to the email are pictures of the attendees from Bomalang’ombe and Vikongwa.
- Prince of Peace will be hosting the upcoming BKB Habari (News) session the evening of March 3rd at 6:30. (There will be a similar session on March 5th at Christus Victor in Apple Valley). This is a session that BKB holds twice a year to give an update on what’s happening with Bega kwa Bega. The focus this time will be on recent January/February visits and events, including engineering students, a medical group, Eunice Fultz, and BKB Director Kirsten Levorson. During this time there was a medical conference, six school visits, eight district seminars and the ordination of 17 new pastors! We usually have 30-50 attendees at these sessions (it might be a bit on the higher side since POP is so centrally located). The event will be in the sanctuary with treats in the narthex. If anyone would like to help with the hosting, we could use a few trays of bars/cookies and/or packaged treats, and 1 or two people to greet people at the door and direct to the coat racks and sanctuary. Please let Caryn Josephson know if you would like to help!
