Worship at Vikongwa

We had a joyous worship service today at Vikongwa!  Our translator,  Pastor Msigwa, gave a lively sermon in three languages.   Lots of wonderful singing and dancing!

After the service many gifts were exchanged, and we were surprised by a large portrait of the travel group based on a photo we had shared ahead of time.  We also received gifts from the Lyamko village leaders who we had visited early in the visit.  Our gifts of books, soccer balls and the metal cross were greatly appreciated!

After church we gathered for the auction.  Rick bought potatoes and John bought eggs.  We also enjoyed watching the children playing with the soccer ball.

In the afternoon we had our partnership meeting where we share our plans and prayer requests.  Vikongwa has a lot of great ideas, including paying off the guest house, purchasing office equipment and buying land next to the church which is up for sale.  With the extensive road improvements in the area, they hope that projects such as the guest house can help them generate income.

We finished the evening by thanking the wonderful cooks who have kept us well fed!
