Deepest thanks to all who helped with the Tanzania Dinner!  We had at least 35 people who helped set up the auction, tables, and sound/video, donate auction items, prepare food, serve food, and clean up afterward!

So far we have raised over $10,000, which is well on our way to meeting our goal of $12,000 to support scholarships and other needs at Bomalang’ombe, Vikongwa, and the Iringa Diocese.  A heartfelt thank you to all who have donated, won auction items, or purchased fabrics, baskets, and spoons to help support this ministry!

In 2023 we supported 26 students from Bomalang’ombe and 3 from Vikongwa.  The average scholarship is $450 annually.  We also sent $1000 to the scholarship equity fund, which provides $500 a year to all the congregations that do not have a partner, and $1000 for post-secondary scholarships for students in the Iringa Diocese who are pursuing a University degree.  On our visit to Bomalang’ombe and Vikongwa in September we were able to meet some of the students, parents, and guardians who are receiving scholarships from us.  Many of the students are orphans living with relatives and education gives them opportunities to succeed in life.

If you would still like to help us reach our goal, you can give online at by CLICKING HERE and choose Tanzania Mission, or send a check to the church office.

At the dinner, we also received an update from Vikongwa – prior to our visit in September, we raised funds to buy a “PikiPiki” (motorbike) for the parish to help the pastor and other church leaders more easily visit the remote preaching points.  Their reaction to the announcement can be seen HERE.

On Friday we received the wonderful news that Vikongawa was able to take delivery of their PikiPiki!  The package includes the bike, helmet, and license.  Pastor Victory Mdegela and Partnership Chair and Mangalali Evangelist Emanuel Mkemwa came into Iringa to receive the PikiPiki!  We are so grateful for the many ways in which Prince of Peace supports our brothers and sisters in Bomalang’ombe and Vikongwa!
