In 2018, the congregation of Prince of Peace adopted a new staffing configuration that created a position specifically for congregational care and visitation. Pastor Ruth Sorenson-Prokosch served in this role since August of 2018 until she resigned to pursue her doctoral studies. At the recommendation of the Personnel Committee, the Congregation Council has authorized the formation of a search committee to recruit the next pastor or deacon to serve in this capacity.
This is a part-time position, averaging 15 hours per week. Primary responsibilities include visitation of sick and home-bound members and tending to the spiritual and physical health of the congregation by supporting related ministries. While all ages are to be served, this position does concentrate on connecting with the elders of our congregation. As a member of the pastoral team, this pastor or deacon will also have an occasional presence on Sunday mornings. Occasional worship leadership and preaching are possible but not required. A complete position description is available below. Interested candidates should contact Pastor Peter Christ.
