Lent 2026
First Series: February 22-March 22
Pilate asks Jesus, “Do you not know that I have the power to release you, and power to crucify you?” Indeed, power has the capacity to bring about immense good but also immense suffering. Scripture reminds us that God’s justice does not operate by the sword of empire but by God’s deep and abiding love for all creation. Governments are accountable to God’s standards of justice and mercy, and when leaders abuse their power they are not serving God’s purposes but resisting them. As we continue in John’s gospel during our Lenten journey, we’ll see that Jesus calls out injustices, refuses to let Peter fight with the sword, and willingly bears the violence of the world in his own body. His kingdom does not advance by coercion or force but by the power of his self-giving love for all – including those who will nail him to the cross.
Sunday worships at 8:30am and 10:45am.

Wednesday Lenten Worship
Wednesday worships February 18-March 26 at 6:30pm. Community Soup Supper begins at 5:15pm prior to worship.

St. Paul Area Synod Immigrant Support Fund | February 22 & 25
We, as the Saint Paul Area Synod, are committed to walking with them through this terrible time of crisis. To that end, we have established the Immigrant Support Fund, which goes directly to families connected with the synod’s ethnic-specific congregations. Donations to this fund support food relief, rent assistance, and legal fees when appropriate. In addition to providing financial help, we are committed to ensuring our siblings have access to the support they need in ways that reduce their risk of danger. Learn more here.

Pastor’s Discretionary Fund – Holy Week & Easter Tithe
A gas card for a single mom trying to make it to work; help with a security deposit in order to move into a safer apartment; a Target gift card for a dad buying a Christmas present for his child; grocery money to feed a family until the new benefits start flowing. These are all recent examples of the ways Pastor Steve and our staff are able to respond to those who come to our doors looking for help with the resources available through our Pastor’s Discretionary Support Fund.
