Even after the benediction, the story isn’t over. That’s the truth at the heart of the Emmaus road—and of this moment in our congregation’s life. As we turn the page on one chapter of ministry, I want to offer these reminders for the road ahead:

First, keep telling the story. God has done beautiful things in this place—hold on to those memories and share them. They’ll anchor you in seasons of change and inspire others to join you.

Second, stay rooted in your mission. “Building the church and loving the world” is not a task for one pastor—it is the shared calling of this whole community. Keep living it boldly.

Third, trust each other and the Spirit among you. Jesus still walks with you—in the breaking of bread, in conversations shared, and in the ordinary moments of ministry. Trust that presence, and trust one another.

Fourth, be open to holy surprises. God often shows up where we least expect. Make space for new voices, new dreams, and new ways of seeing God at work.

I am forever grateful for these nine years together. The love you’ve shared with Anne, our kids, and me has sustained us beyond measure. Our story may take different paths from here—but, we are still companions on the way. Thank you for walking with me. The story continues.

Peace be with you dear Prince of Peace. -Pastor Peter

Let’s pray… God of every chapter, thank you for shared roads and sacred stories. Bless this beloved community with courage, grace, and hope for all that’s still to come. Amen.
