Recent changes to the sanctuary, making our worship more accessible.
Seating with Arms
At the ends of a handful of rows you will now find padded chairs equipped with arms. We’ve been using these chairs in our Reception Room for a while and many have come to appreciate the improved comfort with transitions the arms provide. While anyone is certainly welcome to use this seating, we would request that it generally remain reserved for those who might benefit from the extra support. The arm chairs are also placed in locations where a walker might rest adjacent.
A New Location for the Prayground
The prayground is a child and family friendly area which flows from our love of having children in worship. The new location attempts to address concerns from parents that the play space was too much on display, while still maintaining good sight lines for children to track what’s happening in our worship. In the praygroud you’ll find quiet toys and activities for kids to keep engaged during the sermon, prayers, and announcements. Parents are expected to be seated nearby or to be in the prayground together with your child.
We hope our whole community values the accommodations these changes will offer for a broader cross-section of our worship attendees. And we appreciate everyone’s assistance in accepting whatever disruption to past practices this may represent.
