Home from Tanzania
We spent the last day in Zanzibar relaxing at the Tembo House Hotel enjoying watching all the activity on the beach and doing.some last minute souvenir shopping. Then, it was time to make the long trek home. Our first leg was a 20 minute flight from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam on a prop plane. We walked from the domestic terminal to the international terminal where we were met by Jackson from Mukuta Travel. He had stored our excess luggage so that we didn’t need to bring it all to Zanzibar. We had a few hours before check-in, so Jackson also helped us find a good spot to park our bags and have a bite to eat before our flight. The second leg was a 9 hour overnight flight from Dar es Salaam to Amsterdam. In Amsterdam we had a couple hour layover which gave us time to get through passport check and security before our 8 ½ hour flight back to Minneapolis/St Paul.
It will be great to see our family and friends again!
