Our companions in Bomalang’ombe and Vikongwa parishes send greetings to everyone at Prince of Peace! We’ve had some recent communication with Pastor Tewele at Bomalang’ombe and Pastor Mdegela at Vikongwa to share news of what is happening at Prince of Peace and in their parishes. Both parishes recently received funds from Prince of Peace to help with building projects (described below). Prince of Peace supports partnership building projects through an annual gift of $1000 to each congregation plus extra funds raised over and above scholarship commitments at our annual Tanzania dinner. They are eagerly looking forward to our next visit in September 2025!
Bomalang’ombe Highlights
- Prayers are needed for the village water supply. They have been without village plumbing since April 2024. The government is working with them and they hope to have everything working again in June of this year.
- It is prime farming season now – rainy and cool, and their crops are doing well.
- A huge ‘thank you’ to Prince of Peace for funds to help them construct additional rooms for their Business Center.
- They are preparing the foundation for a new main church at Bomalang’ombe!
- The sad news is that Evangelist Amina Kifyasi of the Mangalali Preaching Point passed away recently. Mangalali is the newest preaching point and Evangelist Kifyasi was instrumental in starting the preaching point and working with the members to construct a new church. Please keep Mangalali Preaching Point in your prayers as they search for her replacement. Meshack Nyamba, the Partnership Chair for Bomalang’ombe is serving as interim.
- One of the parish needs is a new pikipiki (motorbike) to help support travel to the more remote preaching points during the rainy season.
- Bomalang’ombe sends their love and prayers for Prince of Peace during our time of transition!
Vikongwa Highlights
- A huge ‘Thank You’ to Prince of Peace for helping provide funds to help purchase a house that they will be able to use for guests and for income generation. A well built 8 room house near the parish became available at a reasonable price and funds from Prince of Peace, added to funds they were able to raise themselves, helped them make the first installment payment on this investment.
- Vikongwa is praying for us during this time of transition. They are giving thanks for the ministry of Pastor Peter and all the pastors who are helping us during this transition time!
- They appreciate the news we’ve shared about events at Prince of Peace and about our upcoming visit. To quote Pastor Mdegela – “We wish you all the best on preparation for your journey to Tanzania. Your welcome at Vikongwa, we will be happy to see you again, this is a wonderful moment we are waiting for. Thank you, Karibu sana Vikongwa( Your welcome at Vikongwa).
