After Easter Sunday, it’s easy to imagine the story of Jesus wrapping up neatly—resurrection, celebration, the end. But that’s not how God works.

The resurrection isn’t a conclusion; it’s a turning point. For the early followers of Jesus, it sparked more questions than answers. They encountered the risen Christ in surprising places, wrestled with doubt and disagreement, and found themselves pulled into a story far bigger than they ever imagined.

In our lives, we often long for resolution—for things to make sense, for a clean ending. But like those early disciples, we are part of an unfinished story. Resurrection keeps unfolding in real time, through unexpected encounters, hard conversations, personal transformation, and the Spirit’s ongoing work among us.

This Sunday, we launch a new worship series, An Unfinished Story. The stories we’ll encounter come from Luke, the book of Acts, and letter to the Galatians. We’ll walk alongside the early church as they navigated life after Easter. We’ll meet people like Stephen, who gave everything for his faith; the Ethiopian eunuch, welcomed on the margins; Paul, transformed and confrontational; and the church, learning to grow beyond its borders.

Through their stories, we’ll reflect on our own: where resurrection is still taking root, where grace is still at work, and where the Spirit is still calling us forward. And while this Sunday will be my last serving as your Pastor, our stories will continue.

The story of faith isn’t finished. It’s still being written. And for this, we can rejoice!

May you find yourself in God’s story today. -Pastor Peter

Let’s pray… God of resurrection, open our hearts to the unfinished places in our lives. Write your grace into our stories, and lead us into what’s next. Amen.
