I decided to connect the topic Free to a couple of scriptures. Starting with the scripture Romans 12:2 (Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will.) which shows that not following the pattern of the world means breaking away from social norms and ideals to shape who you want to be, not what the world wants you to be. And by doing this your mind is freed and follows God’s will of freedom for all humans. God doesn’t want to fully decide what freedom is for humans because then there would be no individual freedom, so God created each human to individually find their freedom. The next scripture, Galatians 5:1 (It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.) shows that Christ saved us from slavery because God created us to be free, not trapped against our will.
The topic “Created to be Free” stood out to me because I feel like the topic of what it means to be free has been a controversial topic where a group of people decide what freedom is for everyone else. Being created to be free means everyone gets a say, but what usually happens is someone’s freedom gets taken so that someone else gains that freedom. People will follow Gods will that people are created to be free, because humans want to be free and know that they deserve freedom. But we have to remember that we can only achieve that if we don’t take away other people’s freedom or take away our own freedom to fulfill Gods will.
