The Task Force members are forming questions that need to be addressed before meetings with the congregation scheduled for the adult forum time on September 17 and 24 and a congregational meeting on October 1.  A tentative idea of what will be considered at the congregational meeting will be formulated by the Task Force by the end of August with a congregational mailing informing the congregation.  The forums on September 17 and 24 will provide an opportunity for congregational input on any recommendations.

Any questions you may have that the Task Force should consider about a Habitat for Humanity development, an Affordable Housing Apartment or an ongoing Tiny Home settlement should be submitted to Kristin at the PoP office or to me at sasveom@gmail.com.  These questions may not all be answerable right now, but are important so that we firm up the necessary information in a timely manner.

You may have seen a news article in the Minneapolis Star Tribune on Monday, August 7, about Churches implementing the new legislation regarding tiny home settlements.  Then, KARE 11 news did a report in which Valerie Roy was included.  Both reports mentioned the work at Prince of Peace.

Larry Smith who is the chair of the very large Loaves and Fishes Community First Settlement in Austin, TX is coming to MN as a consultant for some churches in the Duluth area who are considering a tiny home settlement.  He will be in the Twin Cities on Saturday, August 12 and has asked to visit Prince of Peace.  He will visit on that day at 9 – 10 am.  You are welcome to come to meet him.  He met with both Suzan Hurlbut and with Pastor Peter when they went, at different times, to visit Austin.

The next Task Force meeting will be Monday, August 14 at 6:30 pm.  Anyone is welcome to attend.

Steve Sveom, chair
