The Task Force met again on Monday, August 21.  We held a lively discussion about the options to be presented to the Congregation for consideration on October 1.  The interim use permit that was acquired from Roseville to keep the two Tiny Homes in place is good until January 1 at which time the State legislation takes effect and will guide us if we continue to host Tiny Home residents in the future.  The ratio of “intentional neighbor” homes to homes for “chronically homeless” residents is to be 30% under the State law.  That means for us to continue this ministry, we will need to add one more home.  If the decision on October 1 is to continue an ongoing Tiny Home settlement, we would have time to add one more home and anchor it before the ground freezes so that we would be ready to accommodate another resident when the State law takes effect.

September will be a key time for congregational members to receive information, ask questions (and/or get answers to questions) and join discussions that will be useful in finalizing the resolution that the congregation will vote on.  There will be opportunities to enter discussion on both September 17 and 24 in anticipation of the October 1 Congregational meeting.  A mailing will announce this process.  Other handout material is being gathered and prepared so that members can be as fully informed as possible.  Thank you for your ongoing interest and for your participation in the information and discussion times during September.
