There are 2 changes to Prince of Peace financial accounts that we wanted our members to be aware of:

  1. Ameritrade is now Charles Schwab
    1. Prince of Peace has an account that is used to receive donations of stock, and to hold our reserve funds in place that is safe and will generate interest income.  Our account was with Ameritrade, which was recently purchased by and transferred to Charles Schwab.  For those who want to make donations of appreciated stock, please contact Kristin in the church office and she will give you the new account information needed to make the transfer.  If you have any questions about why or how to make a stock donation, you can also reach out to Caryn Josephson at bookkeeper@poproseville.org.
  2. Prince of Peace Venmo account
    1. Prince of Peace recently set up a Venmo account that we used as an option for collecting funds at the recent POP Carnival and at the Youth Rummage Sale.  For those not familiar with Venmo, it is a popular App that lets you transfer money to another person, business or charity.  At both events we displayed a QR code that people could scan and give to us using Venmo.  We received around $500 at each event through Venmo!  This method works best for fundraising or fee type events where we expect to draw members of the community.  If you have a POP event where you might like to try this method, please reach out to Caryn Josephson at bookkeeper@poproseville.org to see if this might be a good option.
