April 3 – Last day to bring soups for MN FoodShare
Thank you to all who have been donating SOUPS to our local Keystone Food Shelf at 1459 N. Rice Street.
The last day to donate ‘soups’ for this year’s MN FoodShare event will be Sunday, April 3. Don’t forget that money donations are also needed to help supply food to the 300 food shelves throughout the state of Minnesota. Pick up an envelope on the table in the narthex. These envelopes can be dropped off anytime PoP office is open, mailed to Prince of Peace or placed in the offering basket on Sunday.
MN Food Share works to address food insecurity and poverty by collaborating with faith communities, businesses, and community organizations to stock food shelves around the state. Prince of Peace is again participating in this annual food campaign by:
1) Collecting food for our local Keystone Food Shelf at 1459 Rice Street.
2) Donating money for distribution to over 300 food shelves throughout Minnesota. This is a huge effort shared by many groups.
As Debbie Jorgens wrote in the daily devotions, “We can’t underestimate the difference one person can make, but thanks be to God that the Holy Spirit works in us collectively as the Church to accomplish infinitely more than any one of us can do.”
This year Prince of Peace will be collecting soup, healthy food items that are in great demand at the Keystone Food Shelf where Prince of Peace takes the food donations. We had fun a couple of years ago collecting peanut butter. Let’s see how we do collecting soup.
– Food will be collected in the grocery cart by the front door.
– Donations of money will be received by either using the MN Food Share envelope or sending a check into church. (Make check payable to Prince of Peace and designate MN FoodShare Campaign)
