In addition to the many known to us infected by the Covid-19 virus in other settings, we have been notified that a recent worship participant has tested positive. One of our members, present for worship on 12/24 at 9pm and 12/26 at 10am, began exhibiting Covid-like symptoms on 12/27 and tested positive for Covid-19 on 1/1.  It is believed that exposure was likely during a family gathering on the evening of 12/24.  We have confidence that our safety protocols including masking would suggest additional community spread is unlikely.  The member had no subsequent contact at Prince of Peace and has been isolating while recovering at home.  Please join me as we pray for their continued return to health.

As the dramatic increase in infection rates in our community continue, we are encouraging all ministry activities to embrace whatever additional safety measures may be appropriate and to remain vigilant with masking and exposure limitations when and wherever possible.  At this time, Sunday worship and faith formation activities will continue as planned but we encourage all those who can to remain connected from a distance.  If attendance seems light, our ministry leaders will take that as a sign of health and well-being. As we have been, we’ll make adjustments as new circumstances dictate and encourage you to remain attuned to our regular emails for the latest updates.

I give thanks to God for the resiliency and patience this community continues to employ.  We will continue in this fashion, trusting God’s presence will comfort us, that Jesus’ love will be known, and that the Spirit’s counsel will guide us safely forward.
