Spring has sprung and our community grows more beautiful every day. The finishing details of our new multi-purpose meeting room and work space have spilled into the hallway that connects to our common house and bathroom suite. 1950s-era metal shelving has been replaced by some warm wooden racks and benches. A fresh coat of paint welcomes our neighbors and visitors alike. See the photo of the first candle-making session. Thanks to all those who’ve helped to transform these spaces.

And, work on the new courtyard and gardens is in full swing. Join us for a day of building, preparation, and restoration, as we get the settlement garden ready for a summer of new growth and abundance. Raised planters will be created, fence panels will be hung, and our rain gardens will be refreshed. Would you join in the effort? We need your help!

Our Next Community Dinner,

Garden Prep & Plant Party, & Mending Social

Sunday, May 19

Garden Prep – 3:30pm, Mending Social – 4:30pm, Dinner – 5:30-7pm

We continue to gather on the third Sunday of each month to share a meal, celebrate milestones, and marvel at all God is doing in and through our Sacred Settlement. This is the perfect time and place to bring along someone who might be curious to learn more about our Sacred Settlement and the full-community approach to addressing chronic homelessness.

This will be an especially celebratory day as we prepare the soil and planters in the new garden (learn more here). You’re also welcome to join those who gather over conversation and mending projects in the common house for the hour before dinner.

Our Community Dinners are a potluck with the main course and beverages provided, so bring a dish to share if you’re able. Or not – it’s ok. Just come – there’s always plenty. Come hear stories of real transformation and celebrate all that God is making possible.

If you like to plan ahead, consider what you might bring to share, or can help with setup and/or clean up, take a minute to RSVP.
