On August 30 our worship service focuses on the movie Hidden Figures, the story of 3 black women who are an integral part of the NASA space program in 1961.  We can learn much about faith and life through stories of people’s lives and the struggles they face.  As you watch the movie, think about what it teaches us about God and how to love our neighbor.

This 2016 movie is based on the book Hidden Figures: The American Dream and the Untold Story of the Black Women Mathematicians who Helped Win the Space Race by Margot Lee Shetterly.  Shetterly also wrote a young readers’ edition of the book.

Maybe you’ve seen the movie but would like to watch it again.  Maybe the story is new to you.  We encourage you to watch the movie prior to August 30.  You can find it various online streaming platforms or at your local library.  Watch the movie trailer here.
