Representatives of Prince of Peace Church will be traveling to visit our brothers and sisters in Bomalang’ombe, Tanzania, in June, 2019. Social Concerns Committee and Adult Education Committee will host a book discussion of Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City, during Adult Forum Sunday mornings May 5 and 12. Pastor Betsy reviews the book and reminds all to attend the discussions.
Through a Poverty Simulation sponsored by Do Good Roseville, Pastor Betsy Hoium and others assumed assigned roles at the high school one Saturday. Pastor Betsy became a homeless 19-yr. old mother with a one year old son, navigating bus passes, food stamps, and other life scenarios. She tells of her experience seeing poverty up close.
How do you explain Good Friday to Children? Pastor Betsy shares her ideas and invites all to the Children’s Good Friday Worship Service at 11 a.m., April 19. Experience the story from Palm Sunday through Maundy Thursday, Good Friday to Easter through song, story, and movement. A luncheon of grilled cheese sandwiches follows the service.
