Two significant events shaped my ministry over the number of weeks, one unexpected and one long-planned for. First, my gallbladder reached its expiration date and required a quick response. But then I got to accompany our high school youth to the National Youth Gathering in Houston. Through it all, God was good!
How do we actually go deep into God’s story? One place to start is to consider how we engage God’s story through scripture within our worship life. Our worship and education committees are going to begin using the Narrative Lectionary to help bring shape to our life together and help us deliver on our vision for building a church to love the world.
Another Holy Hammers Habitat house is completed after many volunteer hours at the St. Paul site. Prince of Peace volunteers work with volunteers from 15 other churches which make up the Holy Hammers group. Thank you to all.
Music Director Milt Warkentien asks that as we experience changes at Prince of Peace, we should be open to giving of ourselves. “We have so much to give to ‘the new staff’ and together we can make wonderful things happen.”
The youth group told of their trip to the ELCA Youth Gathering during the services Sunday, July 22nd. The group with leader Erika Coe and Pastor Peter gave field reports from the Gathering in Houston, sharing how love, grace and hope change everything!
Our Kenyan missionaries Julia & Vincent Leiyoole are serving the Northern Kenyan area during May’s torrential rains. They took relief supplies to Arsim, Kenya, where their mission station is located. They provided food, clothing, and much more including funds to purchase 23 goats. This is a message shared by Anne and Gus Haugan.
