This June kicked off the inaugural Gardening and Grounds Group (GGG). A group of volunteers met twice a month on Tuesday evening for an hour of outside work followed by treats (usually ice cream) and some social time afterward. Generally, we had a varied group of volunteers from church members, the Sacred Settlement community and non-members and friends.
Most of our work this year gave some much needed attention to our two rain gardens along Victoria. We weeded, cleaned out the intake basins and added 5 yards of mulch in each garden. I’m hoping this year we can give other areas of the grounds the same kind of attention and TLC. We are planning to begin the GGG projects in May and run through August. Keep an eye out for more specifics and information coming this spring. Everyone is welcome to pitch-in and beautify our outside church property!
BTW, did I mention ice-cream?
