The light of Christ is breaking through all the cracks of this year.
Celebrating Christmas Eve as a gathered community of faith is one of those annual traditions, like so many others, that is necessarily having to take a different form this year. Though we won’t be gathering inside our sanctuary, our “Glorias” will still rise and join with the angel choir in celebration and welcome of the new born Prince of Peace. As a church, we will have two ways to gather, listen to this wondrous story, sing our praise, and share a meal of bread and wine.
First, our pre-recorded worship experience will premier at 3pm on our YouTube Channel and can be viewed then or at anytime after. Second, you’re invited to come and join us in the parking lot for a very brief assembly (15-20 minutes) where will listen to Luke’s Gospel of the Nativity, share in prayer and communion, and sing our benediction of Silent Night with candles glowing. Stay in your cars to listen over the radio or stand socially distanced from others with the members of your household. These brief outdoor services will be offered at 4, 5, and 6pm.
Then, join with the other churches of the St. Paul Area Synod on Christmas Day as we worship together virtually with Bishop Patricia Lull and the Synod staff. Regardless of how you choose to celebrate this Christmas, we trust that God will come to you, making room in the world for Christ.
