Planes, Trains and Automobiles
We arrived safely in Dar es Salaam last night and caught a few hours of sleep before our long journey to Iringa. We tried a new experience-the high speed train to Dodoma. It was a smooth and comfortable ride and helped avoid a lot traffic along the way! We met our driver in Dodoma and began the 4 hour drive to Iringa. The road is interesting and has fewer large trucks. We stopped along the way to eat perhaps the largest box lunches I’ve ever seen!
This was a new road for us so it was interesting seeing a different region. We saw the large reservoir and hydro electric dam that provides electrical service to the area.
We made it to The Lutheran Center just after dark, where a delicious dinner waited for us!
