Where is it you like just being still? For me it’s out in nature. I was just in the BWCA and had ample time to just be still and admire God’s Creation.

When Pastor Steve said he wanted silence after the sermon during this series I must admit I squirmed a bit. “How much silence is he thinking about?” was a question that popped into my head. Many times, when I’m not in nature and need to be still, I have a very hard time. My mind wanders, or I start thinking about what I need to do next, or I wonder if what’s now happening is really working.

As I thought about a time for silence after the sermon, I thought maybe having a basic melody to sing or hear would be helpful in setting the tone for the reflection. The new tune “Be Still” has now been used twice and I hope it is helping you be still for reflection.

My prayer for all of us is that we take the time to be still and listen for what God might be calling us to do. We all have been given talents to use and if we can truly be still and hear God’s voice, I think all our lives will be enriched. Take time now to listen to the band led version of “Be Still” and then take some time to reflect and open your heart to what God might be calling you to do.

May God bless us all,
Milt
