The Statue of Liberty: Two Decades of Effort, Almost Impossible Odds

The Statue of Liberty stands proudly in New York Harbor, but how did the Statue come to be? What does it symbolize? Join us for a compelling look at the idea, construction, and meaning behind one of the most recognizable symbols in the world.

This program will be presented by David Jones, a resident of Minneapolis and a native of St. Peter, Minnesota. He graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College and spent 24 years in the financial services industry and three years in the nonprofit sector. David has spoken in senior communities, schools and churches, as well as to veterans and civic groups, women’s clubs and community education audiences. He has been making presentations since 1996 and has spoken more than 2,000 times to a total of more than 50,000 people!
