A New Practice Featuring a Familiar Liturgy

Sundays, Dec, 1, 8, 15, & 22

Cider & Fellowship @ 4pm

Evening Prayer @ 4:30pm

Advent is a time of reflection, anticipation, and preparation as we journey toward the celebration of Jesus’ birth. During these sacred evenings, we will join in Marty Haugen’s beloved Holden Evening Prayer, a liturgical setting that beautifully captures the quiet hope and expectant joy of this holy season.

With its meditative melodies and poetic scripture settings, Holden Evening Prayer invites us to pause amid the busyness of our lives and dwell in God’s presence. Its gentle rhythms and reflective tone align perfectly with Advent’s themes of waiting and preparation, offering a space to light candles, lift our prayers in song, and open our hearts to the coming light of Christ. Prince of Peace has experienced Holden Evening Prayer during mid-week Lenten services for many years and our Creative Arts Team is excited to have us experience it in a new context.

Arrive at 4pm to enjoy some fellowship over hot cider or stick around after for more of the same. Together, let’s embrace the stillness, wonder, and promise of this season as we worship in the beauty of this cherished liturgy.
