Saturday, November 9; 10:00 – 11:30am @ Prince of Peace
How can our present world view, knowledge, and experience inform what we believe?
If you have questions of faith in this 21st century world or are curious because you have heard “God is Relational,” or heard “Process” mentioned in a forum, you may be interested in this:
A monthly discussion group focusing on Process-Relational Theology will begin at Prince of Peace on Saturday, November 9, 10:00–11:30, and we would love to have you join us! Coffee and a sweet treat will be served.
What is Process-Relational Theology?
The key idea in Process is “becoming.” Through our loving Creator, the world is always evolving, becoming a new creation; we are continually becoming a new creation.
God is Relational and creates everything and everyone, past and present, to be in relationship. What does that mean? How does this affect our becoming who we are? How do we affect others in becoming who they are? What is our relationship to God? Is our Loving God all-powerful? Or all empowering ?
Two favorite quotes from Alfred North Whitehead, the father of Process-Relational Theology:
“The image…of God’s…nature is best conceived, [as] that of a tender care that nothing be lost.”(P & R, p 346)
God “is the poet of the world, with tender patience leading it by his vision of truth, beauty, and goodness.” (p. 346).
Please join us. Discussing together empowers our faith. Look for the signup table on Sundays October 27 or November 3 (so we know about how many will come).
At our first meeting (Nov 9)we will consider what draws our interest in it? What do we think we understand about Process?
And we will also discuss a one-page handout, “8 Points of Process Theology” by Jay McDaniel. Copies will be available at the signup table on October 27 and November 3.
