On October 1, Prince of Peace members approved two motions at the congregational meeting.  Motion 1 determined that PoP would end the interim designation on our Tiny Home settlement and establish an ongoing    settlement with the continuation of the two current units and the addition of one more unit.  This will be in compliance with state legislation that takes effect on January 1.  Motion 2 affirms a willingness use the PoP property to pursue options for affordable housing and services.  It enables the CPTF to take the next step to work with developers on possible plans that could be presented to the congregation in the future.

The CPTF heard a very preliminary report about the design workshop sponsored by HGA, an architectural and engineering firm, that reviewed some possibilities for how we might pursue options for the Prince of Peace campus.  The recommendation was offered that PoP should take steps that would determine the feasibility of an affordable housing apartment as a project compatible with our values and goals as well as our property and setting.

The CPTF will continue its work at least until the end of 2023.  Watch for more information as time goes by.  Work will be done to establish the ongoing Sacred Settlement.  But the Task Force will take a brief break – the next meeting will not be until October 23.  There won’t be an update for a couple of weeks, but keep alert for upcoming information as it becomes available.
