The Campus Planning Task Force (CPTF) met on Monday, September 11.  The Task Force reviewed the process of ranking the options we have considered with the decision factors that were used – mission/vision/values, financial resources, compelling need, congregational vitality and human resources, and opportunities for ministry.  The Task Force ranked the option of continuing the Tiny Home ministry with the addition of one unit to comply with State legislation more strongly than discontinuing the Tiny Home settlement.  The only factor which rated continuing the settlement lower was the financial resources needed.  Estimates are that the electrical work and anchoring needed for a third home will be about $10,000 and will not exceed $15,000.  Designated gifts have been received and will likely be given by people and/or organizations beyond the Prince of Peace membership to support an ongoing settlement as well.

The draft motions for the congregational meeting on October 1 were edited and forwarded to the Congregation Council for consideration and further editing at their meeting on Tuesday.  The Council will complete the motions that are to be considered and will inform the congregation.

Conversation was also held regarding the process for voting on October 1.  We understand that the process for congregational votes has required people to be present and voting at meetings but that during the Covid pandemic, provisions for voting online have been developed.  There is no provision for absentee ballots, but the Task Force recommends that provision for voting online be made.

Plans for the Community Conversations to be held on Sundays, September 17 and 24 at 9:40am were discussed in preparation for those information opportunities.  Please plan to attend to gather as much information as possible before the October 1 meeting.  In addition to those meetings, in the sanctuary or via zoom, there is a good deal of information available on the Campus Planning Task Force material on the PoP website.  Printed copies of that information are available at an information table at the Church and a member or two of the Task Force will be present for conversation after each of the services throughout September.
