Yesterday, the Reverend Amanda Simons joined us for worship and brought an inspiring message of hope for our world. Rev. Simons serves as the Director of Church Partnerships and Volunteerism for Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota. Aside from telling the important story of how our partnership with LSS helps to transform the lives of countless Minnesotans, she also shared a video featuring LSS President Patrick Thueson as he announced Prince of Peace being named as the 2023 “Servant of Christ” congregation in the St. Paul Area Synod.
If you have’t seen the video, be sure to watch it here:
We certainly haven’t leaned into this work to care for our neighbors because we seek out this kind of recognition. At the same time, we can take some measure of pride that our partners in ministry value the work we are doing on behalf of the whole church. It’s because of your tireless commitment to building the church and loving the world, that I know how privileged I am to serve as your pastor.
May God welcome you home today. -Pastor Peter
Let us pray… Gracious God, we give thanks for the dynamic partner we have in Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota. Continue to inspire us by their witness and steadfast commitment to transform the lives of our neighbors. May the life you create for all be the reward we seek. Amen.
