Our drive to Iringa was long but interesting. We took an alternate route out of Dar to avoid some traffic jams. The scenery was beautiful and varied including coastal farmlands, mountains and a large area of baobab trees. We stopped in Morogoro to buy some snacks of cashews, bananas and oranges. We didn’t totally avoid traffic jams however! It was quite interesting to see the dance the drivers did to keep traffic moving. Busses and passenger vehicles formed a third lane and took priority. On our drive through Mikumi, the animals seemed to be concentrated in one area with gazelle, wildebeest, zebra and giraffe.
After the long drive it was good to get to The Lutheran Center for a good meal and rest.
