The youth have had a very busy fall! We have continued our fundraising efforts for the Gathering by spending many hours raking leaves and bagging groceries.

We went to support Bjorn in the RAHS show Bye-Bye Birdie as a group and went horseback riding! Looking forward we are planning a big lefse and cookie bake sale for December 10th and a Parents’ Night Out December 16th! The young people are very ready for a well-deserved holiday break.

In youth group, we have been discussing how we can be better servants of God. We had an intense discussion on how bullying has affected us, what we have witnessed, and how we can be allies to our friends and acquaintances who are suffering. The group also un-packed the beatitudes and discussed how they are actually a call to action for us, to inspire us to be the light we wish to see in the world.

The best way for us to welcome Christ’s birth this Christmas is service, and we have definitely been busy in that area! Our December focus will also center around our personal highlights AND struggles of 2017 so that we can then practice letting go of the negative energy and be excited and renewed for what the new year brings.

The group continues to be extremely thankful for the support of the congrega-tion and is committed to deepening that relationship on interpersonal levels.

Blessings, Erika Coe
