We have some bittersweet news to share. Longtime Director of Children’s Ministry, Tammy Wilkinson, has announced she is resigning her position to spend more time focused on her family and her on-going studies at Luther Seminary. This will become effective at the end of the year, December 31, 2017. While we will certainly miss her leadership of the children and family ministries at Prince of Peace, we’re glad to know she, Russ, DJ and Odin still intend to remain active members of our faith community. Tammy says, “It has been both an honor and a joy to serve and be in partnership through ministry with each of you.”

We give thanks to God for all the ways that Tammy has blessed this church with her gifts in 9+ years on our staff. Her mark on this place and on us will be felt for some time to come. We are also eager to discover how and where God is calling her to new ministry for the sake of the church and the world.

The Congregation Council, Personnel and Children’s Ministry Committees will now begin the work of planning for this transition. We welcome your input and support of the effort required to maintain our on-going programs. Additionally, the Mission Staffing Exploration Team (MSET) is also considering the larger implications for our staffing configuration as we embrace the changing paradigms of the church and how we might effectively align our staffing resources. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Pastor Peter or any member of the Personnel Committee or MSET with your questions, concerns or suggestions. We remain confident that, together, we’ll find our way through this transition and look forward to God’s mission being even more fully realized in the days to come.
