Worship @ 7pm, Pie Fellowship to Follow
On the night before we gather around our favorite tables filled with so many good things, we gather around another important table. Together, we first give thanks to the one who has created everything and made it available for us to enjoy. Our worship will be framed around a special story that Pastor Melanie has crafted into her best-selling book, Around the Table that Grandad Built. Join us for this special evening as we let our gratitude be the response to God’s generous invitation. And then, stick around for pie!
About Pastor Melanie’s book, which will be available for sale following the service…
“In a unique take on the cumulative classic “This Is the House That Jack Built,” a family gathers with friends and neighbors to share a meal around a table that brims with associations: napkins sewn by Mom, glasses from Mom and Dad’s wedding, silverware gifted to Dad by his grandma long ago. Not to mention the squash from the garden, the bread baked by Gran, and the pies made by the young narrator (with a little help). Serving up a diverse array of dishes and faces, this warm and welcoming story is poised to become a savored part of Thanksgiving traditions to come.”
Don’t forget about the pie!
Following the worship service, Prince of Peace’s high school youth group will be dishing up pie and collecting free-will donations to support their upcoming trip to Denver, CO July 9th-16th, 2023. Click here if you’re interested in donating pie to the cause.
