Sometimes when we look forward we see many things that could be done. Sometimes when we are in the present we are overwhelmed. The Prince of Peace building and property calls out to us for care and both of those reactions could dominate. However, the Property Management Team stumbles forward trying to address the needs of our facility with the goal of making it an effective tool for ministry.
When I say “stumbles” I speak of myself since I am merely interested in seeing things done well, but without a great deal of expertise. Other members of the team have skills that have been offered in service to the work of Prince of Peace. I am most grateful for that.
Looking back on this year, some significant work was done. A laundry facility was installed under the oversight of Dan Neujahr. Solar panels were installed and became operational under the oversight of James Ericksen. Lighting and electrical work was overseen by Russ Stolle. Painting was done in the downstairs hallways and upstairs by the reception desk and touch up in the hallways to accommodate new signs. Dave Johnson, Dave Olson, Steve Sveom, James Ericksen, Roger Hintze, Fred Ogimachi and others helped to do the work. Decorations were hung (All Saints and Christmas) with participation from many. Light bulbs were changed, windows were sealed, sanctuary chairs were given arms to help people get up again, after sitting down, and many other tasks were accomplished by Property Management and Monday Morning Work Crew.
Just so you know, Property Management had a December pizza party and the Monday Morning work crew enjoys weekly treats and coffee. Feel free to join either of these groups – if not for the work, for the community. Thanks to all who are already participating. Consider this an invitation to others. One participant told me Monday Morning was among his favorite times of the week.
