Minister for Family Fun, Faith Formation and Community Engagement will start July 8
Following a lengthy search process, the CYF Team is excited to announce that Alyssa Herrig has accepted our invitation to serve the families and membership of Prince of Peace as we continue re-imaging our ministry for children, youth and families. She will be collaborating with Julene Hannesh in offering a fully integrated ministry for people of all ages. In addition, Alyssa’s responsibilities will include guiding the congregation in its community engagement, finding the intersections of this church’s unique capacities and the most compelling needs of our community. In particular, Alyssa will be leading our work with the Sacred Settlement and the variety of ministry partnerships our church continues to support.
Here’s a brief bio…
Alyssa Herrig possesses a deep well of ministry experience in the ELCA. She was attracted to our opportunity because it allowed her to continue leading a creative ministry for children and families while expanding her horizons through our variety of efforts to love the world. After growing up in southern MN, Alyssa is a proud graduate of Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD. She has led Children, Youth & Family ministries in Alexandria, Jackson, and Mankato and also worked for the Girl Scouts here in the Twin Cities. Alyssa brings with her a deep love of the church and a real passion for connecting with people of all ages.
The CYF Team is planning for some get-to-know-Alyssa opportunities in July and August but you can expect to see her in the office throughout the week and in worship most Sundays. Be sure to offer your warmest welcome and be ready to lend a hand when she asks for your help.
