Dear faithful of Prince of Peace,

Where has the summer gone?

Would you like to have one more trip?

How about a trip to Ghent, Belgium to learn more about its Cathedral altarpiece that has one of the most beautiful images of the Book of Revelation—The Mystical Lamb of Revelation?

To take this vacation, just click on this link:  The Ghent Altarpiece: supreme divine art | Visit Gent

In this website you’ll find lots of good information about the altarpiece. There are other side trips you can enjoy. There is even a video on the website of the Bishop of Ghent presenting a lamb to the millionth visitor for the year. The guide shouts “Angus Dei!”

This great work of art is from 1432 and is known as “The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb.” It is the painting chosen for the cover of Dr Koester’s Revelation and the End of All Things (2nd edition).

As we sing during Easter:

Worthy is Christ, the Lamb who was slain,
whose blood set us free to be people of God.
Power and riches, wisdom and strength,
and honor and blessing and glory are his.

This is the feast of victory for our God.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
(ELW, 101)

Pr Walter

Let us pray: Merciful God, your Son was lifted up on the cross to draw all people to himself. Grant that we who have been born out of his wounded side may at all times find mercy in him Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. (ELW, Good Friday Prayer of the Day)
