Day 6

Today we woke up early to pack for our trip to Abiding Hope Church. Everyone was assigned jobs like vacuuming and cleaning up. We ate turkey bacon and eggs for breakfast and Bryce got a gargantuan stain on his shirt, which was continually brought up throughout the day. The story goeth that Bryce and Enna were talking. They were going to high-five, but Bryce was unfathomably tall and Enna had to jump to reach his hand. As she jumped up to achieve one of the most difficult high fives known to (hu)man, typical Bryce who said he’s in his late 20s –a.k.a. 26– lost his balance and dumped coffee all over his shirt. Not to mention, Bryce’s long list of random trivia questions was not over. Right before we left, Wes discovered an Elk named George and everybody took pictures. After leaving our stuff at Abiding Hope, we went shopping and headed for Elitch Gardens Theme and Water Park. Everybody had fun going on rides and eating overpriced foods. The last ride we went on was the high swings from which we could basically see Taylor Swift setting up backstage at her Denver concert. Despite the $900 ticket price, some people were more than willing to dump their savings into it. However, we did get to see Taylor Swift’s performance from the car on our way to Chipotle. Virtually everybody got bowls which were apparently too small and they got insufficient servings of rice. There was also uncooked beef. Micah (me) finally got to play classical music in the car, which everybody enjoyed way more than Allie’s endless list of Taylor Swift songs. I’m hoping to play the entirety of Holst’s The Planets and even jolt some people out of their naps with the first movement on our long car ride home. Lastly, we got to Abiding Hope Church to do devotions and get ready for our hike the next day.
