In preparation for the upcoming Semi-Annual Meeting of the Congregation, leadership wants to provide an opportunity to dig into the details of these important initiatives. There are three main items of business the congregation will be asked to approve which will be explored during this session:

  • The proposed 2023-24 Operating Budget. Congregation Treasurer Arjun Sethi will review our financial performance for the current fiscal year (ending June 30) and describe the vision behind the proposed budget for the coming year (beginning July 1).
  • The proposed changes to our Constitution and Bylaws. Incorporating the feedback recently received from the congregation, Congregation Secretary Deb Cordes will review the latest draft proposed changes to our governing documents. These changes are intended to bring us in line with the ELCA model constitution, right-size our council structure to reflect current practice, and clarify spending discretion/authority for both budgeted and non-budgeted expenses. A copy of the latest draft of the proposed changes is available below.
  • A proposed Carport and Solar Array. The Campus Planning Task Force has forwarded a proposal to construct a permanent canopy, for no cost to the congregation*, over a portion of the main/south parking lot. This structure would accommodate 136 PV solar panels, designed to provide over 100% of the church’s annual electricity demand. The variety of benefits of this project will be reviewed. *Depending on the final design, location, and project additions, some investment may be required.
