Cori Forcey, Youth Director & Seminarian

Welcome to the 2019 School year!

PoP Rocks!

PoP Rocks is our high school youth group that meets on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm. Most of our time together is focused on fellowship. We often play games and chat about various topics. We throw in service projects on occasion as well. Don’t worry, we do talk about Jesus too. This starts September 11th.

Foundations

Foundations is our Sunday morning faith formation for grades 7-12th grade. We meet from 9:40-10:40 (in between services). This year we are going to use this hour (or shortly less than an hour) to build foundations of faith using a curriculum that invites discussion and activities around faith topics.  Youth are encouraged to join us on Sunday mornings to deepen their understanding of a life in faith. This starts September 22nd.

Note: September 15th we will not have Foundations on Sunday Morning. -If your youth is around, encourage them to assist with the first day of Sunday School or help prepare for our Rally Day activities.

A few events that will come up fast are the following:

Fall Retreat: October 4th-6th Prince of Peace community members are encouraged to register and join us at Wapo for the weekend. Confirmation students will also be meeting during this time. It’s a great way to experience God and the outdoors this fall!

MEA Getaway: October 17th-20th A retreat for 9-12 grade students over MEA weekend. This retreat is an excellent encounter with God through worship, fun, and fellowship. The schedule is built specifically to serve high school students. It is an opportunity for teens to explore their faith among their peers and trusted adults.
