The Song of the Redeemed

When Mary and Elizabeth meet, joy overflows in a song of gratitude and hope. How do shared faith and God’s promises inspire us to sing with joy, even in uncertain times?

Scripture References: Luke 1:39-55

From Series: "Ordinary People, Extraordinary Story"

In this season of Advent and the Christmas that follows, we’ll journey through the opening chapters of Luke’s gospel, meeting ordinary people whose lives are forever changed by God’s extraordinary story. From Zechariah and Elizabeth’s quiet hope to Mary’s humble "yes," to the joyous visit of shepherds in the night, each character is a reminder of how God chooses unlikely people to reveal divine love and presence. This series, "Ordinary People, Extraordinary Story," invites us to see how the holy breaks into the everyday. Each Sunday, we will hear the familiar yet profound stories of those drawn into God’s plan in surprising ways—people of humble origin who played crucial roles in a story that shaped history. And as we move through Advent into the celebration of Christmas, we’re invited to wonder how this same extraordinary story still unfolds around us today. May we find ourselves in these stories, sensing God’s call and discovering anew that the holy can be born in us, too.
