The Tree with Leaves for Healing

The Book of Revelation concludes with a new creation. God’s future is pictured as a city with a garden at its center. The tree of life stands within the city with its gates of pearl, open to all. This is the future that beckons people everywhere. To live in anticipation of New Jerusalem is to embrace its way of life in our lives.

Scripture References: Revelation 21:1-6, Revelation 22:1-5

From Series: "The World is About to Turn"

What is your initial reaction when you learn that the book of Revelation will be the biblical text for worship and study July 2—August 15? Some might state that it is a “book with such scary images and battles—better leave it alone!” Others might recall frustrating attempts at reading this last book of the Bible. “. . . And the World is About to Turn!” will be a worship, preaching, and study opportunity at Prince of Peace this Summer. We will celebrate and learn about the many dimensions of the book of Revelation. You just might be surprised how the book will bolster your faith life in our world today. In addition to Sunday’s worship theme of “And the World is About to Turn!” Opportunities to study Revelation will be offered two times each week: Sunday morning, 11:15 to Noon and Tuesdays, 9:30-10:30 AM. (The material at the two sessions will be the same, so come to the class that is most convenient to your schedule. All are welcome to the Tuesday study.) A very accessible book about Revelation will be available for purchase ($10) written by Craig Koester, New Testament scholar at Luther Seminary. His video study, Is This the Time? Interpreting the Mystery of Revelation, will be used in our studies.
