A gas card. Assistance with an apartment deposit. A scholarship for a student in Tanzania. Missionaries in Slovakia and Kenya. Construction help for a Habitat for Humanity house. Bars for a funeral. Weekend food in a child’s backpack. A pair of warm socks for a homeless veteran. A garden and chicken coop for our Sacred Settlement. A listening ear of a Befriender. Education on Mental Health challenges. Making connections over a friendly game of pickleball or bridge. Buying girl scout cookies or cub scout popcorn. Delivering Meals on Wheels.
At times the challenges we face seem overwhelming – political division, gun violence, climate change, wars, financial disparity and uncertainty, discrimination. What can one person possibly do to help solve these challenges? In Matthew 25:35-36 Jesus says ‘…for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me’.
There are so many ways that Prince of Peace members use their Time, Talent and Financial Resources to help Love the World – sharing God’s love in tangible ways. Together, and with God’s help, we work together to make a difference in our local community and the world.
