The word of God that came to Judah through Jeremiah is severe in its condemnation of Judah’s faithlessness to Yahweh. They have broken the covenant with God and have gone after other gods. Therefore they suffer by the hands of the powerful Babylonian nation. They have been unfaithful but God, though angry, is faithful. That is the good news, the gospel.
