Milt Warkentien, PoP’s Worship & Music Coordinator, would like to continue inviting professional ensembles for community concerts and to enhance our regular worship experiences. In the past, we’ve had folks generously contribute to our dedicated accounts to support these efforts. Unfortunately, this resource has been depleted over the last few years. We have included some modest funding in our annual ministry budget for occasional instrumentalists or vocalists to enhance our worship (have you heard Alex Charland play his sax & clarinet in worship?).
We are looking for donors to help defray the cost of bringing in more groups like the MNBoychoir, enough musicians to do a big band service, or artists such as Joe Davis & Dave Scherer. We’re also exploring an opportunity for an upcoming jazz quartet concert at PoP as an outreach event, but this would the exhaust remaining dedicated funds. Music sponsorships will help to ensure that these kinds of opportunities can continue at PoP. Any amount helps.
Know how fortunate the congregation is that Milt has so many friends who play for reduced professional rates or even for free. Recently, the keyboard concerts have featured musicians who donate their time which Milt expects to continue offering for our community. What a joy it is to share this musical vibrancy in so many diverse ways.
If you would like to explore this further or have specific sponsorship ideas, be sure to speak with Milt.
