On Sunday, September 12 congregations across the ELCA celebrate how we are God’s hands and feet in the world. Following the 10:00 worship service we have a variety of service projects for people of all ages to participate in! From fleece tie blankets to park clean up, there is something for everyone!
We plan to do all the projects outdoors, weather permitting.
God’s Work, Our Hands Projects
Create Fleece Tie Blankets for Bridging – Colder months are approaching. We will cut and tie fleece blankets for people in need that will be distributed by Bridging. Please bring sewing scissors if you have them.
Scoop Laundry Soap for Bridging – Bridging is a nonprofit organization that provides furniture, housewares and other necessities to individuals and families setting up a new home. Laundry detergent is expensive but needed. We will scoop soap into individual containers to be distributed to people through Bridging.
Decorate Birthday Cards for Camp Noah – Camp Noah is a day camp program sponsored by Lutheran Social Service that serves children in communities impacted by disaster. Sometimes during crises, milestones like birthdays get overlooked. We will decorate birthday cards for children living in disaster impacted communities.
Care for God’s Creation in Central Park – Prince of Peace has adopted Central Park (west) and periodically cleans up trash in the park. Grab a trash bag and gloves and join us outdoors as we care for this valuable community resource.
